After each dance, a few of the dancers walk down off the stage and wander among some of the front tables. If you want to become one of the dancers at the Tropicana, auditions are held each year. Hundreds of hopefuls turn out for the auditions. About 12 are selected for training. They train 5-6 hours per day, 5 days a week, for a year. Then, only about 5 or 6 are selected. The rest are sent home.

Tropicana Nights!!
Havana is well known for it's evening entertainment venues, especially the iconic Tropicana Club. We had the opportunity, by staying overnight, to attend a performance. Boy, was it fun!! I sprung for a premier seat, which put me and my table mates right up next to the stage. We also got free drinks, peanuts and a bottle of rum to share between 4 of us. The show started at 10 PM and lasted until midnite. It was non-stop music, singing, dancing and costume changes. The Tropicana is an open air venue and we enjoyed a really nice night, temperature-wise. I loved every minute of it.
